In September of this year, two reunions were held, one to celebrate MIU graduates from 40 years or so ago, and the other to gather people who were active in teaching the Transcendental Meditation™ program in the 1960s and 1970s.
The first event, held over the weekend of September 6-8, was conceived and coordinated by several MIU graduates from that era, and included meals and meetings both on and off of the MUM campus. The MUM Alumni office and the MUM Development department supported the event with a website and a Saturday luncheon. There were approximately 90 attendees at the various venues.
The second event, entitled the Movement Originals Reunion, was sponsored by the Development Department, attracted 250 participants to meetings, meals, and mini-tours on the weekend of September 27-29.
A featured aspect of both weekends was a visit to an exhibition of selected archival items from the new Maharishi Global Archives and Collections Project. On each weekend, the Unity Gallery in the MUM Library was taken over by displays of memorabilia from the early days of Maharishi’s initiatives to bring the Transcendental Meditation program into popular use all over the world.
The following short videos give a sense of these events.
